With a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rio de Janeiro Federal University (UFRJ) and currently studying for a degree in law at Estácio de Sá University (UNESA), Yan has additional training in patent drafting and advanced training in patents from ABAPI. In addition, he has completed courses on the PCT (Patent Cooperation Treaty), Intellectual Property Management and Patent Drafting, provided by WIPO.
Yan works in the area of technical consultancy with an emphasis on patents and industrial designs. His work particularly involves the preparation and processing of patent applications, prior art searches and challenges, risk assessment involving infringement and possible protection strategies for new technologies. He has experience in serving national and foreign clients, providing consultancy related to multiple areas of technology, including, but not limited to, agriculture, automotive, materials and metallurgy. Yan also works in the area of litigation, working on legal disputes in cases of patent infringement and invalidity, unfair competition and industrial design invalidity.
He takes part in important associations such as ABAPI, ABPI and CREA-RJ.
