Marina Inês Fuzita Karakanian

Marina holds a law degree from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo; she completed an extension course at the Franklin Pierce Law Centre (United States); she has a postgraduate qualification in Economic and Corporate Law from the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV-SP); and she was a scholarship holder studying Private International Law in Japan.

Marina advises domestic and international clients across a wide range of economic sectors, including: Retail, Energy, Chemicals and Petrochemicals, Automotive and Automotive Parts, Construction, Electrical and Electronic Goods, Machinery and Equipment, and Specialised Services, amongst others.

She is a member of leading professional bodies such as ABAPI, ABPI, ASIPI, INTA, the Japanese Chamber of Commerce, Swisscam, OAB-RJ and OAB-SP, where she serves on legal and trademark committees; Director of Communications and Marketing at ASPI – São Paulo Intellectual Property Association; and Lecturer in the Postgraduate Program in Intellectual Property, Entertainment Law, Media, and Fashion Law at ESA – Higher School of Advocacy of the São Paulo State Bar Association (OAB/SP).

In recognition of her work, she has been featured in the Análise Advocacia 500 publication – Most Admired Lawyer since 2013, the Latin American Corporate Counsel Association – LACCA 2022, ranked in the Intellectual Property category of Who’s Who Legal Brazil (Lexology Index IP) since 2023, and The Legal 500 – Intellectual Property Brazil 2025.
