With 30 years' experience, Joaquim is a member of the firm's Board, Executive Committee and coordinates the litigation sector, working in the civil and criminal areas, specialising in patent, industrial design and trademark litigation.
He has a postgraduate degree from the Getulio Vargas Foundation in Economics and Business Law, and a master's degree (LLM) in Intellectual Property Law from the John Marshall Law School-Chicago, United States. He is co-author of the books ‘Comentários à lei da Propriedade Industrial’, ‘Coletânea de Leis de Propriedade Intelectual’ and ‘Global Patent Litigation: how and where to win’. He co-authored the ‘Brazil’ section of the Mondaq Global Patent Litigation Comparative Guide, published in 2024.
He is annually featured in various national and international publications and prestigious awards in the field of Intellectual Property, such as: ‘Who's Who Legal’, ‘IAM PATENT 1000’, ‘IAM Magazine’, ‘World Trademark Review 1000’, ‘Análise Advocacia 500 - The most admired in Law’, ‘MIP IP Stars’, ‘Latin American Corporate Counsel Association (LACCA)’, ‘Leaders League’, among others.
He actively participates in important national and international associations, such as: ABA, ABPI, AIPLA, AIPPI, ASIPI, INTA, IPO.
