We, at Dannemann Siemsen, are proud to be supporters of Japeri Golfe, a social education project through sport that accommodates the first public golf course in Brazil and maintains a Golf School, through which about 400 children and young people who live in Baixada Fluminense have already passed. In over a decade of operation, the project has had good results on and off the course, and has already transformed dozens of lives, not only of the students, but also their families.

In addition to enabling the practice and development of the sport in the region, the project attracts investors, contributes to the local economy by generating direct and indirect new jobs, offers a new perspective for the population in the municipality and provides a significant improvement for the quality of life in Japeri, the municipality with the lowest Human Development Index (HDI) in Rio de Janeiro.

Created in 2001, the Japeri Public Golf Association – AGPJ was born from the dream of a group of young caddies living in Baixada Fluminense. In addition to the social inclusion work, the Japeri Golf Project contributes to the preservation of the nature surrounding it. This is because the Japeri Golf course protects over 70 hectares, with reforestation actions and the establishment of a green area, preserving the biodiversity and creating a kind of unique “Ecological Sanctuary” in the region. Efficient controls and continuous environmental monitoring of the project during and after its establishment were adopted. Additionally, it also develops the environmental awareness of the children through the course “Little Environmental Agents”.

Since its foundation, 122 years ago, Dannemann Siemsen has had social responsibility among its pillars. Contributing towards the development of the young people in our community is, without doubt, a reason to be satisfied and proud. We are Dannemann Siemsen!
